  • The first Jiangnan Context Forum opened with a grand art and cultural show, entitled ‘Endless Longing for Jiangnan,’ in Fan House on Lingshan Mountain in Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province on the night of December 2.
  • Sun Jiazheng, honorary chairman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, former vice-chairman of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and also China’s former cultural minister, joined Li Xiaomin, member of the standing committee of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Wuxi Committee, Wang Yanwen, member of the standing committee of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and the committee’s publicity chief, and Li Chunlin, deputy editor-in-chief of Guangming Daily were among those watched the performance.
  • The performance marked the start of the forum themed “Inheritance and Spiritual Homeland.” Composed of main forum and parallel session, the event aims to explore the passing on and development of Jiangnan-centered cultural legacies from the perspective of Chinese culture, reveal its rich heritage, philosophical wisdom and spiritual homeland, and demonstrate the underlying historical values and contemporary significance. A number of research results will be unveiled during the forum.
