Enterprises in east China’s Jiangsu province have spared no efforts to increase local employment so as to ease labor shortage and boost production resumption.
An electric vehicle spare parts manufacturing company in Taizhou required 60 workers to re-start the work but only 30 workers arrived on the day of resumption.
Altogether, 25 micro and small enterprises in the town need 316 workers to get their work on the track.
The local community has taken the initiative to visit local households and encourage the farmers to get employed in the hometown.
Qinshan Village in Jurong County runs a nursery stock over 5500 mu of areas. Previously, the nursery stock needed at least 300 workers to get the work done. Faced with the shortage of labor from the epidemic control, the local government has encouraged the villagers in their 50s and 60s to be hired as hourly workers so as to ensure the operation of the nursery stock and help with the income growth of the farmers who would be otherwise kept idle in the home.
The Huanghai Farm in Xiangshui County has tried its best to apply faming machines in the agricultural production so as to avoid gathering of people amid the epidemic control. The local farming machinery bureau has enlisted the help of local farmers to help with the spring farming on the farm.
