The China-Japan Culture and Technology Integrated Development Forum took place in Suzhou New District (SND), East China's Jiangsu province on Dec 10, according to local media reports.

The forum explored the high quality integrated development of culture and technology in Suzhou New District through the use of the Shishan Commercial Innovation Zone and China - Japan Innovation Valley, both of which are still under construction.

Officials from the district briefed participants on local polices regarding the cultural industry and the development of cloud games in SND.

Guests from China and Japan also shared their insights into the integrated development of cultural and creative industries.

In March this year, SND became a national demonstration base for the integrated development of culture and technology.

The district has adopted 3D printing and other high tech solutions to promote traditional handcrafts, such as Su embroidery, jade and nut carvings.

Several culturally creative companies in the district have turned seemingly dry technological achievements into exciting cultural feats.

SND currently houses 76 public service platforms, 632 cultural and technological companies with total revenue of nearly 100 billion yuan ($14.11 billion) and 13,500 relevant staff members.

In the future, the district will focus on digital content production, digital media equipment manufacturing, arts and handicrafts.
